Princesses Beware
I've never liked princesses. To me they embody the opposite of two things I deeply believe in: democracy and feminism. When Disney's marketing machine started selling all over the world the idea that being a princess was every girl's dream, I was appalled. When I had my own daughter, I joined the resistance.
Then, one day, I realised that, despite all my efforts, somehow, after six years of birthday presents, my daughter was surrounded by Cinderella, Elsa & Co.: books, costumes, toys... I could not screen her from the princesses obsessed world anymore. Will she eventually surrender to the frivolous charms of royalty?
